The Saudi Sports Arbitration Center Concludes Its Participation In The Second Riyadh International Disputes Week

The Saudi Sports Arbitration Center concluded the activities of its dialogue forum, held as part of the second edition of the "Riyadh International Disputes Week – RIDW25," currently taking place in Riyadh

The forum’s activities featured a speech by Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Bassam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center, in which he stated that the Center has recently worked on numerous projects and programs aimed at enhancing its operational framework. This began with the launch of its strategic plan, which includes 33 projects and 6 initiatives. Following his speech, Dr. Bassam honored a representative of the Saudi Sports Media Federation in appreciation of its media sponsorship of the forum.

The forum included three panel discussions. The first panel addressed the complementary roles of sports institutions in resolving sports disputes, featuring Dr. Mohammed Bassam, Chairman of the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center; Firas Al-Rubaie, Legal Advisor to the Minister of Sports; and Ahmed Al-Quniaan, Chairman of the Appeals Committee at the Saudi Football Federation.

The second panel focused on sports law and justice from the perspective of athletes. Participants included Hani Al-Mohammed, Assistant Director of Athlete Affairs at the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee; Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser, Chairman of the Hearing Panel at the Saudi Anti-Doping Committee; international sports arbitrator Ahmed Abu Amara; and Saudi Olympic champion Tareq Hamdi.

The third session highlighted the role of sports law in supporting investment in the sports sector, with the participation of legislative expert Dr. Faisal Al-Fadel, CEO of the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center Jaber Al-Juhani, and Shahad Al-Sagheer, Director of Club Investments at the Ministry of Sports.

The forum concluded with a workshop titled “Sports Arbitration: Principles and Procedures,” presented by Dr. Mohammed Bassam and CEO Jaber Al-Juhani. The session addressed the concept of sports disputes, sports law adjudication, and the role of the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center in resolving such disputes.
